What is Project Plan to Organize?
Project plan to organize is our 31 day new year’s challenge to help you get organized. We select different areas from the home to focus on and organize each day.
31 Day Organization Challenge
Chose one or all of the 31 day challenge locations.
Day One: Catch-all Drawer
It’s day one! It’s game time! Schedule some time today to clean out your catch-all drawer. WikiHow has a great step-by-step article on cleaning out a drawer if you need some guidance.
Day Two: Hall Closet
Today is all about your hall closet. Make some time to declutter your hall closet so you can find what you need.
Day Three: Pantry
Day three is all about your pantry. How do you want your pantry to look? Are you doing a major change to your pantry or a minor change? Decide what works best for you and make that change happen!
Day Four: Mail
Do you have mail sitting around that is unorganized? Find a specific location to keep your mail and place all of your current and future mail there. If your mail is in one location you will be less likely to lose it.
Day Five: Makeup
Day five is all about organizing your makeup. Take some time to sort through your makeup and remove anything that you don’t use.
Day Six: Vehicle
Is your vehicle messy? Today is the day to clean it out. Whether you have a big mess or a little one, clean out your vehicle and you will feel better about getting into your vehicle.
Day Seven: Books
Day seven is for organizing your books. If you have any books you don’t plan on reading again, today is a great time to donate them.
Day Eight: Jewelry
Is your jewelry unorganized? Go thought your jewelry and organize it so that you can find what you want to wear easier.
Day Nine: Medicine Cabinet
It’s day nine and it’s time to organize your medicine cabinet. You’ll probably be amazed at how quickly medicine expires. Discard anything that is expired.
Day Ten: Spice Cabinet
Is your spice cabinet unorganized? Today is the day to make it more organized. Put similar spices together and make sure to get rid of any expired spices.
Day Eleven: Kids Toys
Day eleven is for organizing kids toys. Do your kids use their toys? If not, consider donating them if they are gently used.
Day Twelve: Kitchen Cabinets
When was the last time you cleaned out your kitchen cabinets? It might not be something you normally think about. Take some time today and tidy up your kitchen cabinets.
Day Thirteen: Holiday Decor
Day thirteen is for organizing holiday decor. Label your storage bins by the season or holiday so you can find what you need in the future.
Day Fourteen: Shoes
Are your shoes unorganized? Today is a great day to pair your shoes together and organize them to make it easier to find what you need.
Day Fifteen: Pet Items
Day fifteen is all about your pet. If you don’t already have a specific location for all of your pet items, you will want to find one today. Pick an easy location to store all of your pets necessities.
Day Sixteen: Office Desk
Is your desk a mess? Get your desk organized today. You can refer to my article about organizing a desk to help you get the results you desire.
Day Seventeen: Garage
Day seventeen is the day to organize your garage. Organize a section or the entire space. If there is a specific area of your garage that has been bothering you, focus on that space.
Day Eighteen: Kids Clothes
Does your kids closets have clothing they can’t wear anymore? Take time today to make a donation bag of clothes your kids can’t use anymore. Make sure the donated items are gently used, if not, you will want to dispose of them.
Day Nineteen: Fridge
Day nineteen is about focusing on your fridge. Remove everything from the fridge. Check any items that may expire and discard as needed. Wipe down the inside of your fridge. Then, put your fridge items back in the fridge and group like items together.
Day Twenty: Freezer
Freezers can get unorganized, just like fridges. Follow the steps from day nineteen to cleaning out your freezer.
Day Twenty-one: Linen Closet
It’s day twenty-one and it’s time to get your linen closet organized. You can refer to my simple organization process to help you with your linen closet.
Day Twenty-two: Travel Items
Do you have travel items scattered around? If so, put all of your travel items together in one location. When you go on your next trip your travel items will be easier to find.
Day Twenty-three: Cleaning Products
Day twenty-three is all about organizing your cleaning products. Check all of your cleaning products dates and discard anything that is no longer good to use.
Day Twenty-four: Filing Cabinet
Is your filing cabinet current? If not, my process on organizing paperwork and files can help you.
Day Twenty-five: Laundry Room
Day twenty-five is for laundry room organization. Go through anything in your laundry room that needs to be organized. Get rid of single socks.
Day Twenty-six: Lotions
Do you have a bunch of lotions? They can expire quicker than you think. Check all of your expiration dates to make sure the lotions are still good to use.
Day Twenty-seven: Storage
Day twenty-seven is for storage organization. Organize any storage items that have been unorganized.
Day Twenty-eight: Wrapping Materials
Is your wrapping station messy after Christmas wrapping? Today is good day to get that space back to being organized.
Day Twenty-nine: Craft Supplies
Day twenty-nine is for organizing your craft supplies. Organize your supplies so that it’s easier to find what you want when you craft.
Day Thirty: Your Closet
Is your closet a mess? Pick up clothes or unnecessary items on the floor. Organize anything else that might be out of place.
Day Thirty-one: Anything
It’s the final day! If there is anything left you want to organize today is a great day to do that.
