What is Productivity?
According to Tony Robbins, productivity is defined as a way to measure efficiency. Another way of explaining productivity is how you measure the output you get from the input. In other words, the effort that is put into something is going to effect your productivity.
I believe that productivity is a result of focus. If you are focused on a task then you will complete it. If you aren’t focused on a task you probably aren’t going to complete it or it’s going to take a long time to get it done. Focus impacts productivity.
Tips for Increasing Productivity
One: Complete Your Least Favorite Task First Thing in The Morning
The first tip is to do your least favorite task in the morning. Why? Because if you accomplish what you really don’t want to do first thing, the rest of the day will be much easier. Take a deep breath and dive into that task you dislike first thing in the morning. You will feel so much better that you completed it.
Two: Don’t Multitask
According to Entrepreneur, multitasking is very bad for you. Multitasking reduces your performance because your brain can’t focus on more than one thing at at time. Do one task at a time to get better results and be more productive.
Three: Reward Yourself for Completing a Task
Keep track of small productivity milestones and wins and celebrate them. A key to being productive is realizing that large goals aren’t going to happen overnight. That is why you need to celebrate small milestones that get you to the large goal.
Four: Prioritize Your Tasks in Advance
Make a list of all of your tasks. By having all of your tasks in one list, you can then prioritize them by importance. After you prioritize your tasks by importance, you can plan them in advance of doing them. You will then be more prepared to get your tasks done.
Five: Eliminate All Distractions
Another effective way to increase productivity is to eliminate all distractions. Having distractions can disrupt your process flow and get you off task. You will be able to have more focus on your task if you don’t have anything that distracts you.
Six: Step Away From the Task
Taking a break from the task can help to refresh your mind, especially if you feel stuck. Briefly walking away from your task can help you to refocus more when you go back to the task. Doing tasks in shorter bursts can help you out.
Seven: Shop Online
Shopping online can help you save a lot of time. Also, by shopping online you will be more focused on what you need.
Eight: Use Your Planner
Using your planner can help you to be more productive. A planner can help you schedule your tasks. When you have a specific time to complete your task, you will be more likely to be productive at completing the task.
Nine: Get Plenty of Sleep
Getting the right amount of sleep is essential to function and perform at your best. Sleeping less than six hours a night can reduce productivity the next day. It is best to get eight hours of sleep per night.
Eleven: Say “No”.
Increase your productivity by saying no. If you say yes to too many things for others, you will lose valuable time for yourself. Saying no isn’t a bad thing. Saying no can help you to accomplish more of what you want to do.
Twelve: Auto Pay Your Bills
Set up your bills for auto pay. You will save a lot of time and eliminate fees and interest if you auto pay your bills. Also, you won’t have to worry about missing any payments.
Thirteen: Plan Your Meals in Advance
