You have goals, right? A goal always starts with a thought about something you want to do at some point. That thought is then turned into a goal, when you put it in writing. I am going to show you how to turn your goals into reality.

What Is a Goal?
The definition of the word goal, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is the end toward which effort is directed. Therefore, a goal is really the end point of effort put out. What do you want the end result to be? What do you want to accomplish? What do you want to become? Asking yourself these questions can help create your goals.
Why Are Goals Important?
Why do you think goals are important in life? Goals provide you with a plan for life. If you go through life without a plan, you don’t know where you will end up. Sure, that’s spontaneous, but also risky. Goals gives you the opportunity to make a plan for what you want to achieve.
Goals also give you a sense of purpose. When you achieve a goal, you feel a sense of accomplishment. Why? Because you accomplished something. When you accomplish things you want to accomplish, you feel that you have a purpose. We all have a purpose. Therefore, we all have to incorporate setting goals in order to reach our life’s purpose.
How Do You Achieve Your Goals?
The most important step in achieving your goals is to set deadlines. A deadline is a time or date that something must be done by. By setting deadlines, we make ourselves accountable for our goals. Since we all want structure in our lives, making a deadline gives us structure. Making deadlines gives us structure by giving us responsibility to get the goal accomplished.
Now that you have some basic information about goals, let’s dive in to understand how you really achieve your goals.
Goal Setting Process
Step 1: Brainstorming
Brainstorming is a way to produce ideas and plan for getting results. When you brainstorm for your goals, you need to be able to focus. You will want to plan out some time so that you can give serious thought to your future desires. You will want to make notes in regards to what is important to you. How do you want your future to be? There are several areas of your life that you can set goals for.
You can set personal goals for finance, health and fitness, relationships, career, travel and any other aspect of life that is important to you. Some goals can impact other goals. You will want to consider the possible impact of your goals in all areas of your life.
Step 2: Goal Setting
Now that you have had your brainstorming session, it’s time to set those goals. You will want to narrow your ideas down from your brainstorming session. Pick goals that challenge you, yet at the same time are realistic. Picture yourself achieving the goals that you are setting for yourself. If you can mentally picture yourself achieving those goals, then you are on the right track.
Step 3: Planning
Now it’s time to make the plan. You have your goals ready and now it’s time to make a plan to help you accomplish those goals. I use my proven five step planning process to plan for my goals. This process walks you through how to start with the idea of your goals and accomplish them. My process also encourages you to maintain your results, in order to not start over.
Step 4: Get Those Goals
Now that you have used my planning process to plan out your goals, it’s time to put that plan to work. Follow the planning process step-by-step and you will get your goals accomplished. Take it one day at a time. Not every day is going to seem successful and that’s okay. Keep moving forward, don’t give up and you will achieve your goals.
