How to Plan Anything with Effective Planning Steps
Step One: Put Your Idea in Writing
You will need to specifically know what you are wanting to accomplish in order to make a clear plan. Let’s say you want to declutter and organize your closet, you must take your idea and put it in writing so you don’t forget it. Putting your idea in front of you, so you can see it, will get you on your way to getting your desired results.
Step Two: Make Your SMART Plan
In order to move forward from your idea, you will need to make a plan. I recommend using the SMART formula for planning:
- Specific: What exactly will you do or accomplish? Make your goals specific and narrow for more effective planning.
- Measurable: How will you know your goal has been achieved? Define what evidence will prove you are making progress.
- Attainable: Is the idea attainable? Do you have the skills to achieve your goal? Make sure you can accomplish your goal within a realistic timeframe.
- Relevant: Is the idea what you really want to do? Your goals should be in alignment with your long-term objectives.
- Time-bound: When will you be able to complete your goal? Set a realistic, yet ambitious end date to stay motivated.
Step Three: Take Action
Take action towards accomplishing your goal. Be sure to review your plan daily to stay on track to a successful end result. You will want to plan your action time wisely, so you don’t waste your time.
Step Four: Review Your Results
Now that you have your final result, is it something you like? If not, go back to your plan and make modifications that can lead to the end result you would be happy with. If you are in favor of your result, then you can move on to focusing on maintenance.
Step Five: Maintain
Congratulations! You have achieved the result(s) you want and now your focus is on maintenance. Since you have put so much hard work and effort into getting this far, be sure to revisit your end result. The maintenance step is crucial for saving time in the future. If you focus on maintenance, you will not have to go back to step one. This will save you so much time in the long run.

Conclusion
I hope that you will save time planning and can be more effective with the five step process mentioned in this blog post. The more effective you become at knowing how to make a plan, the more time you save. And the more time you save, the more fun you can have!
